Classes For The Higher Grades and Vocational Studies
Higher Graded Ballet
The RAD higher grades are designed for more mature students. The strong technique they have learnt in the lower grades will enable them to perform with spacial awareness, an aesthetic line and a firm understanding of dynamic values. They are encouraged to communicate their love of dance through expression and projection using performance techniques they have explored.
The beautiful choreography from the RAD syllabus concludes with 4 solo performances in grade eight.
Grade 7 - Tuesday 7.00 - 7.45 p.m.
Grade 6 - Tuesday 8.30 - 9.15 p.m.
Vocational Classes
The vocational grades are for those who take their dancing a little more seriously. Students who enrol in the vocational programme will be nurtured to realise their potential as we coach them to be self-motivated and organised. Each student will be encouraged to find their own style and to express themselves through their dancing. Vocational ballet follows the RAD syllabus and the modern and tap follow the ISTD syllabus. Vocational students must commit to attending the strength and stretch class, we believe it is vital they have a good understanding of their muscles and joints and how they can excel by using them correctly, they will find their classes so rewarding as they feel confident and safe whilst they execute the demanding virtuoso steps.
Vocational ballet and modern students must attend both classes on the timetable.
